2012 Albamar sauvignon blanc

William Cole, whose Chilean wines we have met before, makes this "Albamar" (meaning sunrise-ocean) sauvignon blanc and makes it pretty strong stuff, it seems to me. No juicy kiwi and grapefruit or delicate lashings of acidity here, but rather a sort of dry-mouthed, tart green apple wallop on the back of the head, from your Granny Smith herself. "Bone dry" the website says. That it is. Make no mistake, very delicious.

Retail, about $12.
