A little summer refreshment

You'll excuse, my fatheads, the references to "an intensely hot summer evening" in this, the middle of January. I remember when I took this picture: the humidity was maddening and the cicadas sang absurdly as they always do in August.

2010 Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of pinot noir

Mr. Toad looks as though he doesn't mind his picture being taken in the falling dusk of an intensely hot summer evening. The wine is luscious, a burst of strawberry aroma and a pinot noir's distinctive earthy or even gamy quality; beautiful pink color, mouth-filling acidity and a dry refreshing finish. Delightful.

Retail, about $12.
